Robert Thompson wins seat on State Personnel Board
State employees have elected Robert Thompson to the State Personnel Board. Thompson received 55 percent of the vote. The State Personnel Board makes rules that affect the salaries, benefits and working conditions of 30,000 state employees and also hears appeals and resolves disputes involving state employees and their agencies. Robert Thompson was endorsed by the Colorado Association of Public Employees (CAPE-SEIU). He served as an administrative law judge for the State of Colorado for 14 years, including 10 years with the State Personnel Board, and was a practicing employment law attorney, representing employees. Thompson is also the author of “The Colorado State Personnel System,” Chapter 17 of The Practitioner's Guide to Colorado Employment Law.
